The Dancewerks National Werkshop features Master Classes with expert instructors, with real-world dance experience. This intensive convention week gives dancers the opportunity to deepen their study of dance, so that they may return to their home studio inspired and connected to their artistry.

Dancewerks National Werkshop is a summer convention experience tailored to serious students of dance who wish to train in a focused and motivating atmosphere.
The intensive is divided into three opportunities so that the dancer can design a schedule to suit their needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Every day, classes will be running simultaneously in separate rooms between the following locations, The Garlands Campus and The Dancewerks Studio.
- There are less than 40 dancers per classroom.
- Students will take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Stretch & Strengthening, Musical Theater, and Choreography based on registration and scheduling.
- Students are placed in the correct level based on an evaluation class that takes place before the first day of classes. ALL students must attend the Evaluation class for correct placement.
- Class Attire, female dancers: Leotard and tights. Hair secure in a bun. Jazz pants are allowed based on teacher discretion.
- Class Attire, male dancers: Black shorts or jazz pants and a tee shirt.
- Please note there is a designated morning drop-off and evening pick-up time for each day!
- Lunch: Students should bring a sandwich and a water bottle. Dancewerks will provide fruit snacks, cookies, chips, and water.
- OUT OF TOWN STUDENTS: If you cannot bring a sandwich, we will provide one for you.
- NO parent observation. No VIDEOTAPING OR PICTURES OF CLASSES OR PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE ALLOWED.
- Barrington is approximately 30 minutes from O’Hare Airport and one hour from Midway Airport.
- If you are flying in for the week, we HIGHLY recommend reserving a rental car as there is limited public transportation in Barrington.
- The train station is located in downtown Barrington. It takes approximately one hour to travel into downtown Chicago. The schedule varies by day and can be accessed here: Metra Train schedule.
- The Dancewerks Studio, Garlands campus and Barrington High School Center are 10 minutes from each other.
- The Performance Showcase will conclude by 7:30pm. We suggest that you fly out as late as possible on Friday or stay through Saturday.
- The class schedule, activities and all camp details will be emailed to you two weeks prior to camp.
